Student Qualifications*

In order for the student to qualify for the award, all requirements must be met or be able to be met.

Student is currently in 12th grade.

Student has attended a Youth Frontiers retreat either as a participant or as a volunteer.

The student intends to continue their education after high school graduation.

The nominating educator and the student must be able to be filmed for our event video.

The student, accompanied with either the nominating educator or parent/guardian, must be available to attend our YF Leadership Luncheon on Friday, May 15, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Minneapolis.

Parents/guardians must give permission for the student to participate in the May 15 event and be included in a press release, event videos and other Youth Frontiers marketing materials.

For example, the 2020 Wisconsin Character Award winner used his experience with hearing loss at a young age to better connect with everyone around him with empathy & curiosity.

For example, the 2024 Minnesota Character Award winner volunteered at her local parks & rec as a recreational leader and now the next generation of young people are learning from her leadership.
